Green architecture (also known as green construction or
sustainable building) refers to the structure and use processes that are
environmentally responsible and resource efficient throughout the life cycle -
the building: from siting to design, construction, operation, maintenance,
until renovation demolition.
This effort to expand and complement the functions of a
conventional building design that takes into account economic, durability,
utility and comfort.
Although new technologies are constantly being developed to
complement these efforts in creating the Green Building, where the overall goal
will green buildings are designed to reduce the overall impact of the
environment on human health and the natural environment through:
- Efficient use of energy, water, and other resources.
- Protect the health and enhance the productivity of people who occupy it.
- Reducing waste, pollution and environmental degradation.
Similar concept is natural building, which is usually
located on a smaller scale and tends to focus on the use of natural materials
available. Other related discussion include sustainable design and green
architecture. Meanwhile istilahKeberlanjutan can be defined as meeting the
needs of the present without compromising the need to meet the needs of future
generations.
